Mysore
Vegans and yogis trying to find peace
What makes a place truly special? For me, it comes down to three things: the people, the food, and the beauty. The people often make or break a place, and Mysore is proof of that. It is one of my favourite spots in the world.
Where I stayed
I stayed at Palace Hostel in Gokulam. There are only two hostels in the area, so it's a small, quiet corner of the city where everyone seems to know each other.
Yoga
Mysore is the Ashtanga yoga capital, so there are classes everywhere. I went to Rhythm Yoga and loved it. Drop-in classes were ₹750. If you already have a practice, there are plenty of other shops and studios to choose from.
I'm also someone whose body hadn't seen a bend in years, and even a few sessions worked wonders on it.
Food
Zen Cafe is my favourite. The Indian food is amazing and very affordable. Afterwards, I often went to Chakra Cafe, where the wraps and pancakes were my go-to.
Things to do
Kaveri River. You can swim or take a dip in the Kaveri, but you have to find the right spots. It's about 20 minutes away by scooter.
Holi. We played Holi here and it was awesome. We ended up having multiple painting sessions, because why not?

Bike trip to Coonoor. We went on a bike trip to Coonoor. I'll write about it in a separate post.
My first tattoo. I got my first tattoo here, done by my friend, who is an amazing artist. You can find her work on Instagram.
The people
Most of the fun here came from what we did together. I made some long lasting friends here who were are supricingly too nice and would make each and every day fun
